Al Pacino
Alfredo James Pacino, commonly known as Al Pacino, is an actor and movie producer from the USA.
He is seen as one of the greatest performers of American cinema, having an acting career that has lasted over half a century.
Pacino grew up in the Bronx, New York City and started his acting career in high school.
He was a student at the Herbert Berghof Studio and the Actors Studio in the same city, where he was educated by Lee Strasberg.
His first theatrical performance was in 1967 and his first movie role was in Me, Natalie (1969).
In 1972, Al Pacino made a breakthrough by starring as Michael Corleone in “The Godfather.” The movie was a tremendous hit both commercially and critically, and he was given an Academy Award nomination for his work.
After that, he starred in several other acclaimed films, including “Serpico” (1973), “The Godfather Part II” (1974), and “Dog Day Afternoon” (1975) which are regarded as some of the best movies ever.
He won an Oscar in 1993 for his depiction of sight-impaired Lieutenant Colonel Frank Slade in “Scent of a Woman.”
During his time in the industry, Pacino has starred in a range of movies from serious crime movies to light-hearted rom-coms, and has collaborated with some of the most famous directors, including Francis Ford Coppola, Brian De Palma, and Oliver Stone.
